Danny Clayburn

Picture
Danny Clayburn, a Native New Mexican and solo acoustic slide guitarist, lends a contemporary new voice to the acoustic blues genre. He uses a unique style and the neck of an old wine bottle to play his original instrumentals. He also has a passion for bringing fresh interpretations to old and largely forgotten music. Danny and his resonator guitar named Ester can be found occasionally sharing his music in coffee shops and cafes around Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Bill Zerbe

Introduction

Bill is an artist who writes and sings his own songs and each song tells a story. The instrument supports the song but the voice and the story are predominant because they are the root of the blues. His piano style is reminiscent of Sunnyland Slim to Otis Spann with an occasional touch of New Orleans and Boogie Woogie added to the mix.

In Feb 2011, Bill released his CD, "Bluesin' Again",  which is enjoying internet radio play and multiple podcasts. The CD is available as either a physical CD or Digital downloads at CDBaby, Amazon, and ITunes.

Bill applied his skills on the Hammond organ and piano in San Diego, playing locally with rock bands, but it was in Kansas City, playing the blues circuit, that Bill got his true education. He was mentored by the great Leon Estelle and Mayfield Towns. It was while playing with the 8-piece show band, The BWB Band, that he backed the young harmonica sensation, Brody Buster. Later, Bill performed and recorded with the Queen of the Blues, Annetta "Cotton Candy" Washington and her band So Many Men.

Bill moved to San Francisco in 1998 where he performed and recorded with Little Sister and the Bad Intentions. They travelled and performed in California, Nevada, and Oregon.

In 2005, Bill relocated to Albuquerque, NM with his wife and, though he travels often for his musical pursuits, he always returns to this southwest home.

9 Volt Oyster

9 Volt Oyster is Shawn Pedersen, Wes Henrard, and Jeremy Samuel. The key of the project is to create complex rich music that takes the listener on a journey. As both Shawn and Wes both play the guitar, bass, keyboards, as well as the drums, it gives the project a very dynamic and changing song to song sound. Jeremy is the primary drummer of the project and is the master at laying down a beat to fit the groove. He supplies complex rhythms and a heavy helping of fills and sound fx that complete the trios sound to maximum prog fusion. The primary sound of the project is progressive rock/ fusion with Shawn's background in metal, jazz, as well as many other genres, Wes's in instrumental guitar, progressive rock/ fusion, flamenco, and blues, and Jeremy's background in metal and rock fusion.

The project originated when The band Stain Glass parted ways in summer of 2010. Bassist Shawn Pedersen and lead guitarist Wes Henrard decided to move forward and start fresh with 9 Volt Ouster. A few months later upon a spontaneous jam between Wes and Jeremy, it was clear another member was to be added. 9 Volt Oyster is currently getting on their feet with playing local shows and adding to an ever growing set list. As there is only one recording with Shawn on drums and Wes on guitar and keys, to get fully shucked (du du tss!) you must go to one of their shows.

Red Light Cameras is a 5 piece indie-pop outfit started in 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. The bands catchy melodies have quickly caught the attention of music lovers across the city. They are quickly becoming a regular act performing at many venues. Red Light Cameras plays music because it is fun, and being accomplished performance artists, aside from the band, they are always guaranteed to put on an entertaining show!

Red Light Cameras started as a project of guitarists Mike and Chris. They called their band Evol Lived, and the two jumped around on drums, guitar and bass as they made grunge rock music.

Evol Lived started playing small gigs and asking fellow musicians to fill in on bass. In 2008, they decided to make Barney the permanent bass player for Evol Lived, and in 2009 the band added Kirsten on drums.

The group played as a four piece for a little over a year, playing much of the same songs developed by Mike & Chris before the new members were added. As the band started to create new material their sound started to change. Evol Lived became more of an alternative band, influenced by bands such as The Smashing Pumpkins, The Flaming Lips, Arcade Fire, and The Pixies.

By mid 2010 the band decided it need a new singer to match the new sound. They auditioned local musical theatre actress, Amanda, and found the perfect match!

With a new singer and a new sound, the band felt it had grown apart from Evol Lived. While debating the possibilities of a name change, Evol Lived ran into members of Spoon at a dive bar and were told to change their name sooner than later. The band quickly brainstormed and by their next gig they became Red Light Cameras.
